European Data Protection Supervisor calls for clear roles
The European Data Protection Supervisor’s formal comments of 8 September 2026, available in full text in our Judykatura database, show that the design of the CBAM common central platform requires a precise allocation of responsibility for personal data processing. The Supervisor indicates that a mere reference to confidentiality and security is insufficient where the draft does not determine the roles of the European Commission, Member States and the private platform provider.
