The European Data Protection Supervisor’s opinion of 16 September 2008 demonstrates that the full text of the opinion in our Judykatura database concerns more than the technical organisation of the exchange of information on criminal convictions. Its central point is the need to design ECRIS in a way that prevents the effectiveness of cross-border exchange from resulting in excessive circulation of personal data or blurred responsibility for its processing.
