The Advocate General of the Court of Justice said that an annotation does not erase baptism-register data

The full text of the opinion in the Judykatura database presents the conflict between the right to erasure of a person leaving a church and the autonomy of a religious community. The Advocate General of the Court of Justice proposes that a person baptised as a child should, in principle, be entitled to request erasure of data from a baptism register if the controller fails to demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for continued processing.
