European Data Protection Supervisor recommends privacy in e-health
The Opinion of the European Data Protection Supervisor of 2 December 2008, whose full text is available in our Judykatura database, demonstrates that cross-border healthcare cannot be designed solely as a mechanism for exchanging services and information. The Supervisor stated that the protection of health data should be a structural element of the regulatory framework rather than a general reference to privacy rules.
